metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) refers to steatotic liver disease that occurs in the presence of one or more cardiovascular metabolic risk factors and in the absence of harmful alcohol intake[1]Its pathological types include metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver (MASL) and metabolic dysfunction associated steatohepatitis (MASH). In recent years, with the deepening of the research on MASLD, its relationship with tumors (especially liver malignant tumors[2, 3, 4]The close relationship between) has received widespread attention and has been recognized as an important cancer risk factor. Referring to previous literature interpretations of MASLD-associated HCC (MASLD-HCC), we defined MASLD-intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) as ICC that occurs in the context of MASLD disease[5]。 It is considered to belong to MASLD-ICC only if both the ICC and MASLD diagnostic criteria are met. At present, the understanding of MASLD-ICC is still in the early stage, and the research on the mechanism of MASLD promoting the development of ICC is still blank. This study reports the clinical and pathological characteristics of 9 cases diagnosed with MASLD-ICC by pathological examination, and hopes to further promote the relevant follow-up research on MASLD-ICC.
