Now, people from all walks of life are talking about humanistic spirit and humanistic care. What exactly is humanistic spirit? What exactly can be done to conform to humanistic care? Everyone is in disagreement. In fact, humanities is not a new word, it has its own origin in our traditional culture. The word "humanities" first came from the Book of Changes, among which "Ben Gua Tuan Zhuan" says: "The intersection of rigidity and softness is astronomy; when civilization stops, humanities are also; observe astronomy to observe the changes of time, and observe humanities to transform the world.""Book of Later Han Dynasty: Gongsun Zan Biography" says: "If you abandon all the fate of heaven and conquer humanities, then the ancient will rest and be fierce, how far away!" Although the "humanities" in ancient Chinese culture are not the same as the "humanities" in western humanism, it is self-evident that it contains attention and emphasis on people.
From July to September, 2014, the author was dispatched by Hunan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission and hospital to visit and study at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA. During my stay in the United States, I studied under Professor Michael Kendrick, Director of General Surgery at Mayo Clinic, and got close contact with the medical teaching and research work of Mayo Clinic, including the ward, surgery and outpatient work of general surgery, vascular surgery and transplantation department, clinical support and exploration work of laboratory department, simulation center and basic research department. At the same time, I also met and made many friendly Mayo people. I also objectively introduced the progress of this major in China and our hospital, and the current situation of domestic medical care to my friends in Mayo, which was widely recognized and praised by many general surgery professors. Three months of visiting study made me realize the advanced medical care in the United States, and even more made me realize the greatness of medical care in the motherland.
Professor Hu Yunyu, a member of the editorial board of the 9th and 10th editorial boards of Chinese Journal of Surgery and former director of the Institute of Orthopedics of the Fourth Military Medical University Xijing Hospital, died at 14: 20 on March 6, 2018 at the age of 88 due to ineffective treatment. Professor Hu Yunyu is a famous scientist, medical educator and first-class professor in the field of basic research of orthopedics in China. He graduated from the former Fourth Military Medical University in 1955, and has been teaching medicine for more than 60 years. He has devoted his life to innovative research in the fields of bone and joint injury, peripheral nerve injury and tissue engineering repair, biomaterials science, etc. He has served as the leader of the basic science group of the Orthopedics Branch of Chinese Medical Association, the deputy chairman of the Orthopedics Professional Committee of the whole army, the head of the global "Bone and Joint Decade" in China, and the founding standing member of the Osteoporosis and Bone Mineral Diseases Branch of Chinese Medical Association for three consecutive terms. She has won two second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Awards as the first completer, was rated as "Advanced Individual of Women's Contribution" by the former General Logistics Department, and was jointly awarded the title of "Excellent Women Inventor" by All-China Women's Federation, State Intellectual Property Office and China Inventors Association. She has been awarded second-class merit once and third-class merit four times. He has won the first "Golden Award for Talent Education" in all military colleges and universities, and has trained a large number of academic backbones and academic leaders for orthopedics in China.
Comrade Qu Mianyu, former president of Beijing Medical University, one of the founders of sports medicine in China, and editorial member of the sixth editorial committee of Chinese Journal of Surgery, died on March 5, 2018 at the age of 93.
