In 1950, the first hot summer after the founding of New China, the Chinese Journal of Pediatrics was born. At the beginning of the publication, the pediatric predecessors firmly embarked on a shining hard journey with the will of diligence and innovation and the spirit of innovation. More than 20,000 day and night efforts have been gathered together, and more than 6,000 published documents are full of ink fragrance. Chinese Journal of Pediatrics is the witness, recorder and promoter of pediatrics in the motherland.
At the invitation of Director Li Wei of the editorial department of Chinese Journal of Pediatrics, let me write this feeling on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the publication of the magazine. Think carefully, I have deep roots and sincere feelings with the pediatric profession and Chinese pediatric journal. In 1985, he entered the Department of Pediatrics of Henan Medical University and began his five-year study with the ideal of saving lives and healing the wounded and benefiting patients. After graduating from university in 1990, I directly entered the clinical work of pediatrics, and began to accompany my small pediatric patients day and night. During my residency, I spent almost all day in the pediatric ward, carefully diagnosed and treated the children, mingled with them, and won the cooperation and love of the children with sincerity and patience, so that the children could recover and be discharged smoothly. Whenever the child is discharged from the hospital and waves his small hands to bid farewell to me, the inner sense of accomplishment and satisfaction arises spontaneously, and I feel the greatness of my pediatric work. After work, I often read all kinds of pediatric professional magazines subscribed by the department. With the encouragement and help of the department director, I also began to write clinical summary papers. With a nervous heart, I tried to submit my first paper to the Journal of Neonatology (now the Chinese Journal of Neonatology). After expert peer review, despite some minor problems, it was finally accepted! I clearly remember that Professor Yu Renjie, deputy editor-in-chief of Journal of Neonatology, patiently and meticulously pointed out the problems existing in the article and suggestions for revision and improvement. At the same time, I was also moved by Professor Yu's rigorous scholarship, serious responsibility and tireless professionalism. At that time, Chinese Journal of Pediatrics was a famous journal beyond reach for junior doctors in secondary hospitals. It was out of admiration for it that after receiving each issue of the journal, I read the whole issue in one breath, and learned about the cutting-edge research progress, the latest diagnosis and treatment plans, the most comprehensive review articles, the most practical "lectures", the "clinical case discussions" that can best cultivate thinking ability, and the most useful "case reports". I read the monographs and papers of well-known people in the pediatric field, and my business ability was constantly improved. I also subtly became a loyal fan of Chinese Journal of Pediatrics.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of Chinese Journal of Pediatrics, the first Chinese pediatric journal in New China, I am particularly excited. The glorious experience of Chinese Journal of Pediatrics is 70 years of witnessing, recording and promoting the development of pediatrics in New China. It has won many honors in Chinese newspapers and periodicals. In 2013, it was awarded "Top 100 Newspapers and Periodicals", "China Publishing Government Award Journal Award" and "100 Outstanding Chinese Academic Journals". Since 2002, it has been funded by many issues of China Association for Science and Technology Excellent Journals Project. In 2019, it was selected into the Excellence Action Plan of Chinese Science and Technology Journals and included in 15 databases such as MEDLINE. He has made outstanding contributions to the development of pediatrics in China and international exchanges.

In addition, because of the orderly accumulation for many years, it is convenient to inquire and browse the development process of pediatrics in China, and it has become a historical museum of the development of pediatrics in China. Today is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the magazine. As a faithful reader of the magazine for many years, I sincerely wish you to follow the glorious tradition of many years, and continue to innovate and move forward to create a more brilliant tomorrow. Onward! Come on!
2020 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of Chinese Journal of Pediatrics. The 70-year history of running a journal has witnessed the development of children's medical care in China, demonstrated the great achievements of pediatric medical education and scientific research in China, and provided a platform for cultivating generations of successors of pediatrics in a special form. Looking back on the development of the Pediatric Journal, we have once again aroused our immense admiration and memory for Professor Chen Cuizhen, one of the founders of the Chinese Pediatric Journal and the first editor-in-chief of the journal, who made outstanding contributions to the cause of children's health in China.
Chinese Journal of Pediatrics was founded in Shanghai Children's Hospital (the predecessor of Shanghai Children's Hospital) in July 1950, which is the first journal published by the Chinese Medical Association Specialist Society. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of Chinese Journal of Pediatrics. At this special moment, let's review the beginning and end of the founding of this journal together. The founding of the Chinese Journal of Pediatrics was decided at the second Chinese Academy of Pediatrics, so when it comes to the founding of the magazine, we have to mention the founding process of the Chinese Academy of Pediatrics.
In 1925, Fu Wenshou graduated from Harvard Medical School in the United States, and since then settled in the United States to practice medicine. As an overseas Chinese, he gave up his superior job and life in the United States and returned to China to participate in the War of Resistance against Japan. In 1937, he led famous overseas Chinese at home and abroad to donate money to establish the first children's hospital in China-Shanghai Children's Hospital (the predecessor of Shanghai Children's Hospital) (
In 1937, on the eve of the War of Resistance against Japan, Zhu Futang in Beijing and doctors such as Fu Wenshou, Zhu Shenzhi and Gao Jinglang in Shanghai initiated the establishment of the Pediatrics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. At that time, the government did not pay attention to it, no one cared about it and supported it, and the society had few activities, so its impact was very limited. These pediatricians receive Chinese people for medical consultation every day, and those who suffer are descendants of Yan and Huang. However, at that time, there were no pediatric books or pediatric journals in China. At the beginning of the establishment of the society, everyone decided to run China's own pediatric journal, but it couldn't be realized for many years. It was not until the founding of New China that it was founded on July 1, 1950. Chen Cuizhen, a professor of pediatrics at Shanghai Medical College, was the first editor-in-chief of the magazine. This magazine is the Chinese Journal of Pediatrics. Since then, China has had a high-level pediatric academic journal.
On the occasion of celebrating the 70th birthday of Chinese Journal of Pediatrics, all medical staff of Pediatric Hospital affiliated to Fudan University express their warmest congratulations to Chinese Journal of Pediatrics! Chinese Journal of Pediatrics is the first pediatric academic journal in China, and it is an authoritative platform for pediatric academic and information exchange. It has made irreplaceable contributions to the development of pediatric medicine and the growth of pediatric team in China. In the course of 70 years of development, she has not only witnessed the founding, development and glory of pediatrics since the founding of New China, but also become the spiritual home of Chinese pediatricians.
