With the increasing progress of treatment methods, the treatment mode of atrial fibrillation (AF) has entered a brand-new era. However, in clinical practice, there are still many unanswered questions, and most of them lack the support of clinical research evidence. The 2014 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association/Heart Rhythm Association (HRS) guidelines for the management of atrial fibrillation included 113 recommendations, of which only 9% (10) had a grade of A evidence (supported by more than one randomized controlled study) and 51% had a grade of C (expert consensus). Even in Category I recommendations, only 12% were Level A evidence. In view of this, this paper will systematically comb the existing problems and experiences in the management of atrial fibrillation, and explore the future direction of clinical research of atrial fibrillation.
