Neuropsychology is a subject that studies the neural mechanism of advanced cognitive function or psychological activity. It studies psychological problems from the perspective of neuroscience, and studies the relationship between brain structure and psychological activity or cognitive function. Traditional neuropsychological methods often study the advanced cognitive function deficit in patients with brain injury to establish the relationship between brain structure and advanced nerve function, and also provide a basis for the localization diagnosis of nerve injury in clinic[1]。 At present, neuropsychology pays attention to and applies brain function methods such as electroencephalogram, event-related potential (ERP), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and magnetoencephalogram, based on clinical research on brain diseases and brain function, and has become a new force in clinical brain science. It is the most important evidence for mapping brain function[2]。 Behavioral neurology is an interdisciplinary subject of neurology, psychiatry, neuropsychology, etc. It mainly studies behavioral and psychological changes in dementia, aphasia, cerebrovascular disease, brain trauma, epilepsy, movement disorders, and emotional and mental illnesses. Compared with neuropsychology, behavioral neurology emphasizes brain diseases and syndromes as natural models of brain injury, and analyzes brain mechanisms of behavior and psychology at the levels of neurotransmitters, cerebral cortical structures and white matter circuits. The development of behavioral neurology is largely based on the theory of neuropsychology, which better links neurology and psychiatry together and serves the clinic based on the clinic. In 2008, the Neuropsychology Group of Neurology Branch of Chinese Medical Association was changed to the Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurology Group, which aims to better integrate the advantages of neuropsychology and behavioral neurology, expand the research field, strengthen the clinical transformation of research, and is of great significance for promoting the development of neurology in China.
