Tigecycline is a glycycline antibiotic that was approved for marketing in the United States in 2005. Tigecycline has been approved and marketed in more than 50 countries and regions around the world, and it was approved for marketing in China in early 2012. Indications currently approved: (1) complex skin and skin and soft tissue infections; (2) complex intra-abdominal infection; (3) Community-acquired bacterial pneumonia. Because tigecycline has the characteristics of broad spectrum and strong antibacterial activity, it has very good curative effect on common multi-drug resistant bacterial infections in clinic, and is convenient to use in clinic, and does not need to adjust the dose according to the impaired renal function. Therefore, this antibacterial drug will be widely used in clinical anti-infective treatment. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) The operating guidelines and results judgment Standards for in vitro drug susceptibility testing of tigecycline have been formulated respectively. Since there are no operating guidelines and results judgment Standards for in vitro drug susceptibility testing of tigecycline in the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) Standards adopted in China, the expert consensus published in the Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine in November 2009-"Operating Procedures for In Vitro Drug Susceptibility Testing of Novel Glycycline Antibacterial Tigecycline"[1]It provides important reference and guidance for the in vitro drug susceptibility detection of tigecycline in China. With the marketing of tigecycline, clinical laboratories need to extensively carry out in vitro drug sensitivity testing of tigecycline to guide the correct clinical use; However, tigecycline is easy to oxidate and degrade, and its physicochemical properties are unstable, which leads to many difficulties and operational misunderstandings in the in vitro drug sensitivity detection of this drug, and it is difficult to standardize. In order to make the in vitro drug susceptibility detection of tigecycline in clinical laboratories simple and easy, and to make the drug susceptibility detection results in different laboratories and different periods comparable, it is necessary to unify the in vitro drug susceptibility detection conditions and methods of tigecycline to ensure the matching degree between the in vitro drug susceptibility detection results and clinical needs.
