In 1932, Albert S. Hyman first proposed the concept of "pacemaker", and the latter square and several electrodes became standard in pacemaker placement. With the progress of concept and technology, while the pacemaker host is becoming more and more miniaturized, the placement sites of pacing electrodes are constantly optimized and updated: from right ventricular apical pacing to right ventricular outflow tract pacing, and then to His-Purkinje system (Hippo system) regional pacing; From single ventricular pacing, to biventricular pacing, to left bundle branch region pacing. The occurrence of pacing impulses is increasingly similar to the normal conduction sequence to activate the heart, and Hippo system pacing is currently considered to be the closest pacing mode to cardiac physiology.
