Epinephrine receptors are representative G protein-coupled receptors that play an important role in regulating cardiovascular system activity. Adrenaline receptor-mediated abnormal signaling can promote the development of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, epinephrine receptors are the most important drug targets. In recent years, new technologies have been continuously applied to receptor research. For example, combining live cell single molecule technology with total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRFM), light-activated localization microscopy (PALM), random optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM) and other super-resolution imaging methods, it has been able to observe the dynamic parameters of receptors and their downstream molecules at the level of single molecules in live cells, providing technical guarantee for real-time dynamic characterization of the signal transduction process of adrenaline receptors. In addition, cryo-electron microscopy, magnetic resonance and other technologies can already analyze the active conformation of epinephrine receptor binding to ligands and epinephrine receptor binding to downstream effector molecules, which reveals the structural basis of epinephrine receptor leading to different signal transduction. The rapid progress of these technologies will surely deepen people's further understanding of adrenaline receptor activation and signal transduction, and promote the reveal of deeper signal transduction mechanism of adrenaline receptor.
