red blood cell distribution width (RDW) is a conventional parameter to assess the heterogeneity of red blood cell volume size. Past studies have found that RDW is an important clinical indicator for the differential diagnosis of thalassemia, megaloblastic anemia and iron deficiency anemia[
The patient was a 48-year-old male. He complained of "throat pain aggravated for 1 month with dysphagia for 5 days". The initial diagnosis was peritonsillar abscess, and he was hospitalized.
At present, the instruments used in routine urine analysis are mainly divided into: dry chemical analyzer and automatic urine forming component analyzer. The latter is divided into two categories according to different analysis principles: one is a fully automatic urine forming component analyzer with flow cytometry technology, and the other is a fully automatic machine vision microscopy digital imaging technology urine forming component analyzer. The latter is divided into two types: one is the single sediment morphology display in streaming image, and the other is the full-field real-scene sediment morphology display. All kinds of instruments have advantages and disadvantages, with different analysis principles, great differences in analysis results, various forms of mixing and matching in application, and uneven analysis results, resulting in poor comparability between reported results, which directly affects the standardization and standardization process of urine analysis. How to give full play to the advantages of these instruments, learn from each other's strengths, and make the urine analysis more scientifically to the standardization, standardization and rapid development is a problem worth thinking and discussing.
