The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine) (hereinafter referred to as the hospital) was founded in 1931, formerly known as Zhejiang Provincial Hospital, and was the first public hospital in Zhejiang Province. It was renamed Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1957, and became the Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1982. It is the earliest modern comprehensive tertiary-class hospital in China, one of the hospitals with the strongest comprehensive strength in the domestic TCM hospital system, and the first batch of national TCM emergency medical teams and disease prevention and control hospitals. The hospital is a national clinical research base of traditional Chinese medicine, a national diagnosis and treatment center for key difficult diseases (gastric cancer), a national regional diagnosis and treatment center for traditional Chinese medicine, a national key construction of traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, and a pilot export hospital for the construction of national regional medical centers. In the performance appraisal of national third-level public TCM hospitals in 2021, the hospital ranked tenth in the country and first in Zhejiang Province. In 2022, six major disciplines (respiratory, digestive, tumor, blood, breast, and bone injury) were selected as Chinese medicine disciplines and ranked among the top ten in China.
