In the past year, our team investigated the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases at the grass-roots level, and visited county hospitals, four township health centers and four village doctor studios in eight counties in Henan, Yunnan and Xinjiang, half of which were national poverty-stricken counties in the past. We have seen the country's huge investment and amazing achievements in people's health protection. All doctors and nurses have a good income and an optimistic spirit. Every county hospital is spacious, bright and well-equipped. The village doctor studio has standard clinics, infusion rooms and pharmacies neatly arranged with all kinds of medicines like the top three hospitals. You can also contact superior hospitals through the Internet. We arrived in Weixin County, Yunnan Province, which is located deep in the mountains (the junction of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces). Some village doctors regularly ride motorcycles to the mountains to measure blood pressure and guide medication for hypertensive villagers living there, and they need to drive 10 km away. At present, most rural doctors in China have not been trained in formal medical schools like urban community doctors, and their ability to independently diagnose and treat common diseases according to the guidelines is obviously insufficient. However, it is difficult to guarantee high-quality services for one doctor and 100 outpatients every day in the top three hospitals. Both primary medical institutions and tertiary hospitals urgently need high-quality and intelligent diagnosis and treatment aids, and make full use of existing personnel to improve efficiency, improve quality and reduce heavy workload.
