In August 2017, entrusted by the Department of Grassroots Health of the National Health Commission, the Chinese Medical Association initiated the compilation of Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Common Diseases in Grassroots Medical and Health Institutions. The drafting was jointly completed by the Chinese Medical Association Press, the Chinese Society of General Practice and various specialized branches of the Association. Fully catering to the practical demands of primary medical workers, these grassroots guidelines feature scientific rigor and consistency, and highlight conciseness, practicality and operability. They cover diagnosis, treatment, prevention and health management. Each guideline is released in two versions: a full standard version and a streamlined practical version.
