Zhao GuoguangProfessor, Chief Physician,PhD Supervisor
Guoguang Zhao is a Beijing Scholar, Chief Physician, Second-Level Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor in Neurosurgery. He currently serves as President of Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University; Director of the National Center for Neurological Diseases; Director of the National Health Commission's Brain Injury Evaluation and Quality Control Center; and Director of the Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery Center at Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University. Professor Zhao has been dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and translational research of functional brain disorders, with a particular focus on advancing the clinical application of brain–computer interfaces (BCIs). As a corresponding author, he has published more than 80 research articles in leading journals in the field, including Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Alzheimer's & Dementia, Science Bulletin, and Molecular Psychiatry. Professor Zhao has led four national-level major research and innovation programs, including the "Brain Science and Brain-Inspired Intelligence Research" major project under China's Science and Technology Innovation 2030 initiative. As the principal contributor, he has received prestigious awards, including the First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award and the First Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. He was also honored with the "Outstanding Scholar Award" at the inaugural Brain–Computer Interface Conference and recognized as "a pioneer in clinical brain–computer interface application research, comprehensively leading the advancement of clinical applications of various types of brain–computer interfaces and the development of intelligent surgical devices."
