Glucocorticoids (hereinafter referred to as hormones) are widely used in China, but their clinical use is irrational. Improper use, including both overuse, i.e. use when hormones should not be used; Also included is underuse, i.e. unused when the hormone should be used, or small doses when large doses of the hormone should be used. Whether it is overused or underused, it will cause damage to the patient's health. The prevalence of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in China is relatively high. A large sample of one-time survey (over 30,000 people) shows that the prevalence of SLE in China is 70/100,000 people, and that among women is as high as 113/100,000 people[1]。 There are differences in the use of hormones by different doctors to treat SLE, so it is urgent to standardize the application of hormones in SLE, and try to formulate simple, standardized and reasonable hormone application principles according to different conditions to benefit more patients.
