According to the China cardiovascular Health and disease Report 2022, the number of patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) in my country has reached 330 million. Aging leads to long-term survival with disease, and the number of patients will continue to increase in the future. It is estimated that in 2030, the number of CVD patients in the elderly over 65 years old will increase from the current 190 million to 240 million. At present, CVD occupies the first place in the proportion of disease deaths among urban and rural residents, far exceeding malignant tumors and respiratory diseases. According to statistics, in 2019, rural and urban CVD accounted for 46.74% and 44.26% of the causes of death respectively, that is, 2 out of every 5 deaths died of CVD. A reanalysis study based on global burden of disease data shows that the age-standardized CVD incidence rate in my country increased from 646.2/100,000 person-years to 652.2/100,000 person-years from 1990 to 2019, of which the age-standardized coronary heart disease mortality rate increased by 11%. Although the prevention and treatment of CVD has been highly valued by all parties, the rise of its incidence has not been fundamentally reversed, which brings a heavy burden to China's social and economic development. The prevention and treatment of CVD has a long way to go.
