Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of disease burden and death worldwide. Since the founding of New China, especially since the reform and opening up, China's health field has developed rapidly and has become one of the countries with the largest increase in the quality of medical services in the world. The prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in China has achieved great results, but at the same time, it is also facing severe challenges. With industrialization, urbanization, aging population, changes in ecological environment and lifestyle, the prevalence and mortality of cardiovascular diseases in China are on the rise, with the number of deaths rising from 2.56 million in 1990 to 3.72 million in 2013. It is estimated that there are 330 million patients with cardiovascular diseases in China, including 245 million hypertension, 13 million stroke and 11 million coronary heart disease. Cardiovascular disease has become the leading cause of death due to disease among urban and rural residents in China, accounting for more than 40% of residents' disease deaths, and is accelerating its spread to young people. Cardiovascular disease has the characteristics of high prevalence, high disability, high recurrence and high mortality. It has become a major public health problem, and the prevention and treatment situation is urgent.
