The prevalence of knee osteoarthritis (OA) reaches 14.3% in Chinese people over 50 years old[1]; It is the main cause of disability of middle-aged and elderly people, and brings huge medical and economic burden to society. Knee OA treatment options are diverse, and previous guidelines recommended non-pharmacological treatments such as exercise and weight loss as cornerstones[2,3,4]。 Due to the differences in culture and living habits, if the existing foreign guidelines are directly extended to Chinese patients, they may face problems such as insufficient implementation. At present, there is no clinical guideline for exercise therapy of patients with knee OA in China. Therefore, we developed guidelines for exercise therapy of knee OA for the Chinese population based on literature and clinical experience, aiming to provide evidence-based recommendations for exercise therapy.
