On the afternoon of June 18th, Nancy Chescheir, President of the International Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE), Trevor Lane, trustee of COPE, and Xu Jiayi, Director of Boshi Publishing, were invited to visit the Journal of the Chinese Medical Association. Wei Junmin, President and Editor in Chief of the Journal of the Chinese Medical Association, and Lv Xiangzheng, Vice President, received the visit and conducted discussions and exchanges. More than ten editorial department directors, including Zhao Wei, Director of the Editorial Office of the Journal, Shen Xibin, Director of the New Media Department, and Hao Xiuyuan, Director of the Editorial Department of the Chinese Medical Journal (English Edition), attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the discussion, President Wei Junmin delivered a welcome speech, warmly welcoming the arrival of the COPE delegation and introducing the attendees one by one. Subsequently, President Nancy Cher systematically introduced the development history, organizational structure, and core job responsibilities of COPE. COPE focuses on the construction of a publishing ethics system, providing comprehensive ethical norms support for publishing institutions, researchers, and universities: continuously publishing industry policy documents and practical work guidelines, forming a professional expert consulting team, and taking multiple measures to promote the normalization and implementation of publishing ethics standards throughout the industry.

Subsequently, Vice President Lv Xiangzheng provided a detailed overview of the magazine's overall situation, operational management model, digital platform layout, and knowledge service product construction. He also looked forward to the future direction of cooperation between the magazine and COPE.

During the free communication session, the heads of the editorial departments of each journal actively asked questions and conducted in-depth discussions on various ethical issues and work doubts related to publishing, based on their daily editorial and review work. President Wei Junmin proposed that both sides should continue to deepen normalized communication and docking, consolidate the foundation of cooperation, and exchange views on specific details related to cooperative services. The attending parties engaged in detailed communication on various issues in the existing cooperation, and initially formed multiple solutions.

After the symposium, accompanied by President Wei Junmin, President Nancy Chechel visited the magazine's reading room to gain a detailed understanding of the magazine's development history, industry honors, and construction achievements. Thus, this international exchange symposium has come to a successful conclusion.
